How Does Pricing Work?
Pricing for the Ship to School service is by bundle and is laid out on this page above. When estimating the cost of shipping per box to send back to us, it all depends on where you are located in the United States. The estimated cost for various mileages from our facility is listed below:
- 0-500 miles: ~$40/box
- 500-1000 miles: ~$65/box
- 1000-1500 miles: ~$85/box
What Items Can I Ship?
You are welcome to ship nearly anything that you like with the exception of what is listed on these FedEx Guidelines. Additionally, our Storage Scholars boxes are designed only to handle up to 45 pounds, any boxes shipped heavier than 45 pounds will be subject to additional surcharges.
Where Are My Items Stored?
Your items are stored in a security monitored, temperature-controlled facility within 20 minutes from campus. We want your items to be safe just as much as you :)
WHAT FITS IN A STORAGE SCHOLARS BOX?
We wanted to help give you a feel for what a Storage Scholars box (22"x18"x18" 4.125 cubic ft) could store, so we spoke with some of our past customers… Here's what they said: “The Storage Scholars box fit practically all my bedroom supplies: my bedding, my toiletries, my two pillows, and my wall art” “The Storage Scholars box held my Nespresso machine, all my winter sweaters, and my bath towels.” “I fit 5 pairs of sneakers, 4 boots and 7 sandals in my Storage Scholars box. That's 16 pairs of shoes!” “I was able to put my blender, both my bedside lamps, my blankets and some silverware in my Storage Scholars Box!” If you are looking to ship the majority of your items to school in lieu of driving them, we recommend choosing "The Average Scholar" or "The Interior Designer" package.
How does a la carte shipping work?
After purchasing a ship-to-school package from Storage Scholars, you can add additional items a la carte from your favorite retailers! You'll be given a specific Storage Scholars facility address you can use while online shopping. After purchase, log back into your Storage Scholars account and provide us with the tracking number! You'll be charged by the item at the rate listed on your package selection.
ARE THEre ANY DEADLINES FOR SHIPPING?
Yes, in order to use the ship to school service, you must ship all of your Storage Scholars boxes and your a la carte packages before August 1st!

1. "Out-of-Box" items will be priced at the rate mentioned above in the pricing section. The minimum cost of the out-of-box item will be $13/month and will be capped at $75/month. Contact for more information!

For your convenience, Storage Scholars offers shipping services at a standard rate of:
1. $50/box (22”x18”x18”) + The cost of shipping. The good news, we get discounted shipping rates and pass those savings directly to you! Each box shipped will have $500 of insurance coverage taken out with FedEx. (See FedEx shipping calculator for an estimate)
0-500 miles: Estimated ~$40
500-1000 miles: Estimated ~$65
1000-1500 miles: Estimated ~$85
2. For international shipping please contact for custom quote
Transferring Schools?
3. We offer the option to have your items shipped after all students on your campus have been dropped off (after the green dates you see on your account). Any requests made to ship prior to the fall drop off dates (green dates) are offered for $250 on a case by case basis based on the availability of our student team members. At this time we are not able to accommodate shipping appointments during our August green dates. Please contact our Customer Service team if you are interested in doing any shipping and need clarification on our policies.
What Can Be Shipped
At this time we are only able to ship Storage Scholars boxes. We do our best to accommodate other items such as suitcases and golf clubs on case by case basis, but additional packing charges will be applied.
Insurance Policy
Each box or out-of-box item stored comes with $100 of complimentary insurance. If you have a higher value box or out-of-box item you want to add coverage to, you can select from the following options when uploading photos of your items to your account.
