Terms & Conditions

These general terms and conditions are entered into by and between you (“Customer”) and StorageScholars L.L.C. (“SS”, “we”, or “us”) operates.  The following terms and conditions, together with any documents they expressly incorporate by reference (collectively, “Terms”),govern your access to and use of SS services (“Services”), including any content, functionality, and services on or through www.storagescholars.com (the“Website”), whether as a guest or a registered user. PLEASE READ THE BELOW TERMS CAREFULLY BEFORE REGISTERING FOR OR PURCHASING OUR SERVICES. BY USING THE WEBSITE OR BY CLICKING TO ACCEPT OR AGREE TO THESE TERMS WHEN THIS OPTION ISMADE AVAILABLE TO YOU, YOU ACCEPT AND AGREE TO BE BOUND AND ABIDE BY THESE TERMS. YOU SHOULD PRINT A COPY OF THESE TERMS FOR YOUR RECORDS. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS, YOU MUST NOT REGISTER WITH THIS WEBSITE OR PURCHASE OUR SERVICES. Please note that SS reserves the right to amend any portion of these Terms from time to time in our sole discretion. Your continued use of the Website following the posting of revisedTerms means that you accept and agree to the changes. You are expected to check this page from time to time so you are aware of any changes, as they are binding on you.

SERVICE DESCRIPTION. SS services (“Services”) consists of the delivery of empty boxes and packing supplies to Customers' dwelling, and the pickup, shipping, storage, and delivery of the Customer’s possessions for a specified period of time. SS services consists of the delivery of empty boxes and packing supplies and coordinating the pickup, shipping, storage, and delivery of personal items using various third-party subcontractors selected by SS, such as moving companies, delivery companies, and storage facilities. SS does not have liability for the acts or omissions of these third parties. SS does not at any time take physical possession of your personal items.

REGISTRATION. In order to purchase our services, you must first register on our website and pay the $50 registration. This allows us to get your information into our system so that we can more easily process your orders. Registration is required prior to reserving a spot for service.
Upon registration for our services, a small amount of personally identifying information is necessary. Required registration information includes your name, address, phone number, email address, and other personally identifiable information including your university. By registering through the website, you are agreeing to the collection and use of your information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, found below.
SS is not responsible for any errors in the information that you submit to SS in registering or placing your orders, including, without limitation, any additional fees or misdeliveries that may result from your errors.

ADDITIONAL REGISTRATION INFORMATION. The Customer agrees to pay a $50 Registration by credit card to reserve space for Services. This charge covers one packing supply kit at the time of sign-up, as well as pickup and delivery (to the same campus) on selected days. Delivery to an alternate location (other than the campus where the items were picked up) will incur additional shipping charges. Deposits are refundable only if the request for a refund happens prior to the shipment of their supply kit (or processing of that shipment). If no supply kit is ordered, refunds are available up to 30 days after that school's complimentary pickup dates end. The deposit will also be refunded in full in the event that SS is unable to perform the services for the Customer for any reason other than the Customer’s willful acts to void the contract. Supply kits are only available while supplies last and are an optional part of the service. If a customer proceeds without enough time for the shipment of a supply kit, this will not entitle them to a refund of the registration. Returned shipments of supply kits will not result in a registration refund.


Advanced Scheduling:
Special move requests must be scheduled at least 7 days in advance to allow for proper arrangements and logistics. Special moves are subject to availability of moving staff.
Customer's Presence
: The Customer agrees to be present to receive the goods at the specified pickup/drop-off date, time, and location for the special drop-off service for all moves that we have not expressed otherwise.
Changes and Cancellations:
Changes to the previously scheduled move date or location must be communicated by the Customer to SS at least 72 hours prior to the originally scheduled special move date. Changes made within 48 hours of the special move date are not guaranteed and may be subject to an additional change fee. Cancellation without 72 hours notice will result in the forfeit of the special move fee and registration fee.
Missed Special Move:
In the event that the Customer is not present for the scheduled special pickup/drop-off, the customer will be responsible for rescheduling for another available date. If this occurs the Customer will be responsible for paying the special move fee for both the cancelled move and the newly scheduled date (if applicable) prior to the execution of that move.
Green Dates Exclusion:
The special drop-off fee of $300 is not applicable during the complimentary "Green Dates" when free drop-off services are provided to customers. By requesting and agreeing to the special drop-off service, the Customer acknowledges and accepts the additional fee of $300 for drop-off services scheduled outside of the complimentary "Green Dates." This fee may be auto-charged on behalf of the customer to prevent delays or rescheduling.
Collaboration with Universities and 3rd Party Properties: In some cases, SS collaborates with Universities and/or 3rd party properties, SS may pick up or deliver your items without you needing to be physically present. Storage Scholars will notify you if this option is available for your added convenience.
Customer's Option to Be Physically Present: In the event you do not want your items to be picked up or delivered without being physically present, you must notify Storage Scholars in writing of your request, which may result in additional charges to accommodate. This option may not be available.
Liability During Pick-Up and Delivery Without Customer's Physical Presence: In the event that Storage Scholars picks up or delivers your items without your physical presence, Storage Scholars is only liable for the items when they are under the control and possession of Storage Scholars, beginning when the items are picked up, and ending when the items are delivered.
Exemption of Liability for 3rd Party Property or University: You agree not to hold the 3rd party property or University liable for your items if Storage Scholars picks up or delivers your items without your physical presence.
Storage Facility Access: Access to SS facilities and partner facilities will not be granted. All business will be conducted on or within 3 miles of the university in question. SS reserves the right to withhold facility information to protect the safety of stored items and movers.

CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS AND FAILURE TO PAY. All charges for Services are due and payable immediately following the pickup of the Customer’s possessions. The Customer hereby authorizes SS to charge the Customer-provided credit card for the balance owed for the services rendered and any additional fees after the pick-up of Customer’s possessions. Checks or cash are not accepted. The Customer acknowledges that they remain indebted to SS for any balance owed on their account as a result of invalid credit card information, SS’s inability to receive credit card authorizations, or for any other reason, which prevents SS from being paid for the services and any additional fees.
SS reserves the right to hold the Customer’s possessions until payment has been received in full. The Customer acknowledges that their failure to pay their account in full prior to the delivery date could result in a change in the delivery date and the assessment of additional fees.

AUTO-CHARGE AUTHORIZATION. By accepting these Terms and using SS services, the Customer agrees to authorize StorageScholars L.L.C. to automatically charge the Customer's provided credit card for all charges related to the Services, including but not limited to storage fees, shipping fees, additional fees, and any other applicable charges. This auto-charge authorization shall remain in effect for the duration of the Customer's use of SS services. The Customer acknowledges that their credit card will be automatically charged on the due date for all outstanding amounts owed to SS and any applicable fees.In the event of a failed auto-charge attempt due to expired or invalid credit card information, SS's inability to receive credit card authorizations, or any other reason that prevents SS from receiving payment for the Services, the Customer agrees to promptly update their payment information and ensure that SS is paid for the services and any additional fees. Failure to do so may result in a delay in the delivery of the Customer's possessions and may incur additional fees as stated in Section 3: Pricing and Deposits.The Customer understands and agrees that they are responsible for any charges incurred on their account as a result of the auto-charge authorization, and they will not hold SS liable for any overdraft fees or other charges imposed by their credit card issuer or bank due to insufficient funds or any other reasons.If the Customer wishes to revoke the auto-charge authorization, they must provide written notice to SS at least 30 days prior to their next scheduled billing date. Revoking the auto-charge authorization may result in the termination of the Services and may subject the Customer to additional fees and penalties as outlined in these Terms and Conditions.By continuing to use SS services and accepting these Terms, the Customer acknowledges and agrees to the auto-charge authorization clause, as set forth above, and authorizes StorageScholars L.L.C. to automatically charge their provided credit card for all applicable fees and charges.

PRICING. All prices and fees for our services may be found on our website www.storagescholars.com. Pricing for the services shall be in accordance with the pricing schedule contained on the SS website. Pricing is monthly and will be incremented based on how many months the Customer stores their items. However, SS charges the Customer for entire seasons: summer, fall, or winter each being (four months), payment is due in the first month for the entire storage period.  Prices are subject to change without notice. The Customer agrees to pay the total cost of the services provided by SS based on the number and type of items tendered to SS at the time of pickup, the exact services to be provided, and the prices contained on the SS website. Minimum storage period is 4 months and the customer will be responsible for 4 months of storage regardless of the amount of time in storage. The price for your service order on the date and time you place your order is the applicable price for your order. Pricing may be subject to a 3% credit card processing fee depending on the state of The Customer. Fees for additional tasks outside of the normal practices and procedures may not be listed on the website. The amount of these fees will be determined by SS based on the type of service provided.


ADDITIONAL FEES. The Customer agrees to pay the following applicable fees as specified in this Section along with any additional costs associated with special service requests. The purpose of the additional fees is to compensate SS for expenses it incurs beyond those associated with the provision of services according to standard procedures.
Additional Fees include but are not limited to: Cancellation of special move within 48 hours – $300,  Customer Not Ready for Delivery or Pick Up– $100, non complimentary move date (Black date) - $300, Late payment fee—$2/day after 10 days of invoice issuance, Abandoned or disposal of items- Cost of one month of storage for the specific item that has been abandoned or disposed of. Customer will also be responsible for any additional fees associated with the disposal of those items. Special shipping date- $300. Late Cancellation Surcharge- $100. SS Packing assistance (any items that need to be packed by our movers) - $75.

REFUND POLICY.
1. Registration Refund. Registration fees will only be refunded if the cancellation request happens at least 72 hours prior to the first complimentary date for the selected university. Refunds will not be given once a supply kit is processed for shipping.
2.Special Move Request Refund. Special move requests will only be refunded if the request for cancellation happens with at least 72 hours notice of the requested move date.
3.Supply Kit Refund. Refunds for additional supply kits will only be refunded if the request for cancellation happens prior to shipment processing. Same day cancellation will not be allowed.

LATE CANCELLATION SURCHARGE. All moves cancelled without at least 72 hours notice will be subject to a $100 cancellation surcharge. This surcharge will be due at the time of cancellation.


SPECIAL MOVES: SS offers complimentary pickup and drop-off services on pre-scheduled "Green Dates" that coincide with student move-ins/outs at the beginning and end of most semesters/quarters. However, if there are no free dates scheduled or the available free dates do not work for a student, then a special pickup/drop-off service can be arranged for an additional fee which are subject to availability. All special move requests will incur a $300 fee and that will need to be paid prior to the move being completed. Failure to pay this fee in accordance with that time frame will result in cancellation of that move or auto-payment if applicable.

MATERIAL DELIVERY. Once the Customer has made an account and reservation through the SS website, his or her material delivery day is scheduled. The Customer should be present between 10 AM – 6 PM to receive the delivery or meet someone from the SS team to pick up their materials. SS may contact the Customer via phone, email, or text prior to delivery to establish a more specific delivery time slot. If SS establishes a more specific delivery time slot, the Customer should be present during that time slot to receive materials. Should the Customer wish to not be present during the material delivery, they must communicate this via email at least 48 hours prior to delivery. Should the Customer elect to not be present during delivery, SS will leave all materials outside of the entrance of the Customer’s residence. The Customer recognizes that SS will not be held liable for damage or theft to their materials.
A SS representative delivering the materials will indicate the amount of materials given on your contract. The boxes that the customer takes must be used for our program.

PACKING. You are solely responsible for packing any boxes. Parcels must be packed securely and designed to prevent breakage of content. SS will not be liable for loss or damage caused by improper packaging. SS reserves the right to reject any item submitted for storage in the event that packages are considered unacceptable as to the manner in which it has been packed or for any other reason. Each box and each item that does not fit in a box is a separate “Item” for the purposed of pricing the SS services as that term is used above. Customers must ensure that a SS packing label, provided to the Customer upon material delivery, is clearly visible on and securely attached to each good stored with SS.

RESTRICTED ITEMS. SS discourages the storage of cash, furs, and jewelry. SS is not liable for the loss or damage to cash, furs, or jewelry. Hazardous material and contraband are strictly prohibited, and SS reserves the right to inspect for and remove such items. SS will not be liable for items damaged due to the storage of liquids. Important documents, such as passports should not be stored and SS will not be liable for the replacement of those items.

STORAGE SERVICES.
A.   Scheduled Pickups and Deliveries. When you place your order for storage, you should schedule your preferred pick-up date. The Customer must select pick-up and delivery times through their account on the SS account portal.
The Customer shall present pre-packed goods to SS at the time of pick-up. Failure to be present at scheduled pick-up time may result in Rescheduling or a Cancellation Fee of up to $100. Should the customer leave their boxes unattended for pickup, the Customer recognizes that SS will not be held liable for damage or theft to their belongings. Pick-Up at non-scheduled times may be available for a fee as discussed in the Pricing section below.
[For pickups and deliveries, SS utilizes third-party services as independent contractors and vendors, such as moving companies. In accordance with Section Thirteen of this Agreement, this Agreement does not constitute a direct contractual relationship with these movers. SS does not have liability for any acts or omissions of third parties. An SS representative will supervise the pickup and deliveries made by the third-party subcontractors. This Agreement acts in accordance with the Liaison Release of Liability and Hold Harmless Agreement and the Mover Release of Liability and Hold Harmless Agreement, found here: LINKS. These Terms and Conditions control in the event that there are conflicting provisions with the aforementioned Release of Liability and Hold Harmless Agreements.]
B.    Storage. Your Items will be stored at a third-party climate-controlled storage facility selected at the sole discretion of SS. A "climate-controlled facility" does not mean the facility is air-conditioned. A “climate-controlled storage facility” is a storage facility with ventilation that maintains a reasonable temperature for storage.
C.    Abandonment. Without limiting the right of SS to conclude for other reasons that the Customer will not be returning to school, the Customer agrees that their failure to be present on the scheduled delivery day and their failure to communicate with SS concerning an alternate delivery arrangement constitutes abandonment of their stored possessions. Under abandonment of their possessions, the Customer agrees to pay SS for all charges and fees relating to the failed delivery. SS has the right to assume ownership of the abandoned property thirty (30) days after the last date of delivery for your standard delivery period. Abandoned items may be auctioned or otherwise sold. Items will be properly stored during the thirty (30) day period of abandonment.

ACCESS TO RESIDENCE HALLS. SS follows and adheres to all terms and conditions of university housing policies as made known to SS. SS will be present within the residence halls at the time of pick-up and drop-off of personal belongings. In the event that access to residence halls is limited by university policy, it is your responsibility to arrange a pickup and delivery location that SS can accommodate. This may require you to bring your belongings outside to SS. All fees and other terms from this Agreement will still apply.

SHIPPING. In addition to storage services, SS coordinates shipping services. We can coordinate the shipping of your Items for incoming students prior to their arrival. Students sending Items home for the summer at the end of the semester and students transferring to a new school.
For shipping services, we partner with FedEx for the best prices and fast delivery. Rates are based on size, weight, and final destination. The cost to ship is $50/box + the cost of shipping. The average cost of shipping a SS box box (22”x18”x18”) 0-500 miles = $40, 500-1000 miles = $65, 1000-1500 miles = $85. SS is not liable for the errors or omissions of any shipping carrier or mover. Items will be subject to the shippers insurance when the items are in their posession.

LOST OR DAMAGED ITEMS. SS will be liable to you for any Items up to the amount of $100 unless additional insurance is added at signup. Additional insurance must be added to qualify for any payment over $100. You agree that the released value of all Items is no greater than $600 and that SS’s liability on any Item is restricted to $600 or the maximum amount of added insurance.
SS will have no liability to you for any Items that do not have clear indications of physical damage to the exterior. SS will not be liable for internal damage that is concealed within its outer packaging.
Any lost or damaged items must be reported to SS within twenty-four (24) hours of delivery. All claims must be filed directly through the customer portal for review prior to receiving compensation. For loss of stored packages, the Customer must notify the SS representative of the missing item at the time of delivery of the other items and sign the delivery receipt amended for the lost package. The missing items must be noted on the form and signed off by the SS representative. After reporting, you must file a full claim with SS within three (3) days after delivery. Claims not filed within three (3) days post the scheduled delivery time of the missing item, or the actual delivery time of a damaged item will be considered waived. All completed claims will be processed by SS and a response issued within thirty (30) days from its receipt of the Claim Form.
Upon approval of the claim, SS will disburse the payout back to the credit card on file. SS wil pay out the lesser amount of replacement or repair. Shipped items will be subject to the insurance of the shipper or carrier. SS will file shipping claims on behalf of the customer directly through the carrier.

Ship To School Service(Specific).
REFUND POLICY. 
Registration. A full refund of the $19.99 registration cost will be refunded if the request is made prior to items being shipped/received by our facility. Any refund not requested prior to the receiving date of that university will be forfeited.
Concierge Kit. A full refund of concierge shipping kits will be provided as long as the request has been made prior to the processing of the Concierge kit. If delivery of a requested kit was delayed due to an SS error, refunds will be issued with no time restriction.
Receiving fees. If an item has been received after the determined receiving date and can not be delivered on time, refunds will not be issued due to delayed delivery. 

PRICING.
All orders will require a $19.99 registration cost prior to proceeding with the service.
All items (regardless of size) will incur a $47 per item receiving fee. It is up to the customer to minimize the total number of packages with the shipper. (Exception: See prepay plan below).
A prepay plan is available only during signup. This plan is $399.99 and will allow the customer to ship up to 10 items of any size. Prepay plan is not available at any time after signup.Shipping fees will be in addition to the $399.99 prepay cost.Concierge kits costs will be in addition to $399.99 prepay cost.All items after the first 10 will incur the $47 per item fee.
All shipping costs will be paid by the customer. If labels are provided via a Concierge shipping kit, those shipping fees will be added to the customer invoice when scanned by FedEx.
Customer is responsible for the special move fee and any additional costs incurred for delivery of an item received after the universities designated shipping deadline. 

DELIVERY FOR PARTNERSHIP SCHOOLS.
Deliveries will be made prior to arrival and items will be delivered in room as long as the customer is arriving after the designated drop off dates determined by SS. 
Off campus deliveries or locations without key access will be delivered during designated green dates determined by SS.
Any deliveries requested outside of the predetermined complimentary dates will be subject to a $300 special move fee and will be subject to availability. 
Due to logistical constraints with Ship to School, early deliveries and specific time frames are not always possible. 

DELIVERIES FOR NON-PARTNERSHIP SCHOOLS.
Deliveries will be made on designated drop-off dates determined by SS. 
Any deliveries requested outside of the predetermined complimentary dates will be subject to a $300 special move fee and will be subject to availability. 
Due to logistical constraints with Ship to School, early deliveries and specific time frames are not always possible.

RECEIVING DEADLINE/LATE PACKAGES.
If a package is delivered after the advertised receiving deadline, the customer will be responsible for all special move fees. 
Packages arriving after the advertised receiving deadline will be subject to late delivery. 

CURBSIDE AND STAGED DELIVERIES.
Select schools will grant limited access to vendors. In this event, SS may need to meet customers outside of their scheduled drop-off location. 
At select schools, SS may need to stage items for pickup due to logistical issues.

 INSURANCE.
In the event that a shipped item is missing or damaged, SS will pay up to the amount of coverage selected for that item. All items are covered up to $100 for no extra charge.
Items will be covered up to the total value or the total amount of insurance selected for that item, whichever is less.
If an item is damaged, SS has the right to pay to repair the item if the cost of repair is less than the cost of replacement.
SS will not be responsible for damage to items that happens prior to receipt of the item. If damage happens during shipment, the customer will need to discuss compensation directly with the shipper. (For SS FedEx labels see below).
If damage occurs to a package shipped with an SS label then SS will file a claim on behalf of the customer.

This allows us to get your information into our system so that we can more easily process your orders. Registration and the requisite deposit are required prior to reserving a spot for service.
    Upon registration for our services, a small amount of personally identifying information is necessary. Required registration information includes your name, address, phone number, email address, and other personally identifiable information including your university. By registering with the website, you are agreeing to the collection and use of your information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, found below.

  3.      PRICING AND DEPOSITS. All prices and fees for our services may be found on our current price list: Pricing for the services shall be in accordance with the pricing schedule contained on the SS website. However, SS charges the Customer for entire seasons: summer, fall, or winter each being (four months), payment is due in the first month for the entire storage period.  Prices are subject to change without notice. The Customer agrees to pay the total cost of the services provided by SS based on the number and type of items tendered to SS at the time of pickup, the exact services to be provided, and the prices contained on the SS website. The price for your service order on the date and time you place your order is the applicable price for your order.
    Deposit. The Customer agrees to pay a $50 deposit by credit card to reserve space for Services. This charge covers the number of boxes requested at the time of sign-up, as well as pickup and delivery (to the same campus) on selected days. Delivery to an alternate location (other than the campus where the items were picked up) may incur additional shipping charges. Deposits are refundable only if the request for a refund takes place greater than seven days prior to the first final exam or before the scheduled pick-up date. The deposit will also be refunded in full in the event that SS is unable to perform the services for the Customer for any reason other than the Customer’s willful acts to void the contract.
    Additional Fees. The Customer further agrees to pay any applicable fees as specified in this Section. SS will charge and you agree to pay any of the fees that apply to you. The purpose of the additional fees is to compensate SS for expenses it incurs beyond those associated with the provision of Services according to standard procedures.
    Additional Fees may be charged for the following, as explained in this Agreement: Cancellation (day before or earlier) – $50, Cancellation (day of) – $100, Redelivery After Failed Attempt – $40, Off-Day Service – $50, Late Registration (48 hours prior to first scheduled university exam day) – case by case a 20% surcharge over prices listed on website. Late Change of Service (Day, Time, or Location) – $40, Late payment fee—$1/day after 30 days of items being picked up, Unused non-returned SS box— $5/box. Additional Abandonment Fees – Costs incurred when storage items are not claimed by the Customer.

SS may contact the Customer via phone, email, or text prior to delivery to establish a more specific delivery time slot. If SS establishes a more specific delivery time slot, the Customer should be present during that time slot to receive materials. Should the Customer wish to not be present during the material delivery, they must communicate this via email at least 48 hours prior to delivery. Should the Customer elect to not be present during delivery, SS will leave all materials outside of the entrance of the Customer’s residence. The Customer recognizes that SS will not be held liable for damage or theft to their materials.
    A SS representative delivering the materials will indicate the amount of materials given on your contract. The boxes that the customer takes must be used for our program. Any extra boxes that the customer does not use should be returned on the day of their scheduled pick-up. If the customer takes more boxes than they use and does not return them in the same condition that they received them, there will be additional charges for those items as follows: Storage Scholars box: $5.
  5.      PACKING. You are solely responsible for packing any boxes. Parcels must be packed securely and designed to prevent breakage of content. SS will not be liable for loss or damage caused by improper packaging. SS reserves the right to reject any item submitted for storage in the event that packages are considered unacceptable as to the manner in which it has been packed or for any other reason. Each box and each item that does not fit in a box is a separate “Item” for the purposed of pricing the SS services as that term is used above. Customers must ensure that a SS packing label, provided to the Customer upon material delivery, is clearly visible on and securely attached to each good stored with SS.
  6.      RESTRICTED ITEMS. SS discourages the storage of cash, furs, and jewelry. SS is not liable for the loss or damage to cash, furs, or jewelry. (See Section 10: Lost or Damaged Items). Hazardous material and contraband are strictly prohibited, and SS reserves the right to inspect for and remove such items.
  7.      STORAGE SERVICES.
    A.   Scheduled Pickups and Deliveries. When you place your order for storage, you should schedule your preferred pick-up and delivery time. The Customer must select pick-up and delivery times through their account on the SS account portal.
    The Customer shall present pre-packed goods to SS at the time of pick-up. Failure to be present at scheduled pick-up time may result in Rescheduling or a Cancellation Fee of up to $100. Should the customer leave their boxes unattended for pickup, the Customer recognizes that SS will not be held liable for damage or theft to their belongings. Pick-Up at non-scheduled times may be available for a fee as discussed in the Pricing section below.
    [For pickups and deliveries, SS utilizes third-party services as independent contractors and vendors, such as moving companies. In accordance with Section Thirteen of this Agreement, this Agreement does not constitute a direct contractual relationship with these movers. SS does not have liability for any acts or omissions of third parties. An SS representative will supervise the pickup and deliveries made by the third-party subcontractors. This Agreement acts in accordance with the Liaison Release of Liability and Hold Harmless Agreement and the Mover Release of Liability and Hold Harmless Agreement, found here: LINKS. These Terms and Conditions control in the event that there are conflicting provisions with the aforementioned Release of Liability and Hold Harmless Agreements.]
    B.    Storage. Your Items will be stored at a third-party climate-controlled storage facility selected at the sole discretion of SS. A "climate-controlled facility" does not mean the facility is air-conditioned. A “climate-controlled storage facility” is a storage facility with ventilation that maintains a reasonable temperature for storage.
    C.    Abandonment. Without limiting the right of SS to conclude for other reasons that the Customer will not be returning to school, the Customer agrees that their failure to be present on the scheduled delivery day and their failure to communicate with SS concerning an alternate delivery arrangement constitutes abandonment of their stored possessions. Under abandonment of their possessions, the Customer agrees to pay SS for all charges and fees relating to the failed delivery. SS has the right to assume ownership of the abandoned property thirty (30) days after the last date of delivery for your standard delivery period. Abandoned items may be auctioned or otherwise sold. Items will be properly stored during the thirty (30) day period of abandonment.
  8.      ACCESS TO RESIDENCE HALLS. SS follows and adheres to all terms and conditions of university housing policies as made known to SS. SS will be present within the residence halls at the time of pick-up and drop-off of personal belongings. In the event that access to residence halls is limited by university policy, it is your responsibility to arrange a pickup and delivery location that SS can accommodate. This may require you to bring your belongings outside to SS. All fees and other terms from this Agreement will still apply.
  9.      SHIPPING. In addition to storage services, SS coordinates shipping services. We can coordinate the shipping of your Items for incoming freshmen prior to arrival to School, students sending Items home for the summer at the end of the semester, and students transferring to a new school.
    For shipping services, we partner with UPS/FedEx for the best prices and fast delivery. Rates are based on size, weight, and final destination. On average the cost is $50/box (22”x18”x18”) <1,000 miles from your campus and $80/box (22”x18”x18”) for shipments >1,000  miles from your campus. SS is not liable for the errors or omissions of any shipping carrier or mover.
  10.      LOST OR DAMAGED ITEMS. SS will be liable to you for any boxed Items up to the amount of $100 or $100 for unboxed Items, up to $0.60 per pound with a maximum of $600 per item. You agree that the released value of all Items is no greater than $600 and that SS’s liability on any Item is restricted to $500.
    SS will have no liability to you for any Items that do not have clear indications of physical damage to the exterior. SS will not be liable for internal damage that is concealed within its outer packaging.
    Any lost or damaged items must be reported to SS within twenty-four (24) hours of delivery. You must report and obtain a Claim Form via email at [email protected]. For loss of stored packages, the Customer must notify the SS representative of the loss of the item at the time of delivery of the other items and sign the delivery receipt amended for the lost package. The missing items must be noted on the form and signed off by the SS representative. After reporting, you must file a full claim with SS within three (3) days after delivery. Claims not filed within three (3) days post the scheduled delivery time of the missing item, or the actual delivery time of a damaged item will be considered waived. All completed claims will be processed by SS and a response issued within thirty (30) days from its receipt of the Claim Form.
    Upon approval of the claim, SS will disburse the lesser of the following amounts:or only partially paid by the shipping carrier or mover.
