Pricing for the Ship to School service is by bundle and is laid out on this page above. When estimating the cost of shipping per box to send back to us, it all depends on where you are located in the United States. The estimated cost for various mileages from our facility is listed below:
- 0-500 miles: ~$40/box
- 500-1000 miles: ~$65/box
- 1000-1500 miles: ~$85/box
You are welcome to ship nearly anything that you like with the exception of what is listed on these FedEx Guidelines. Additionally, our Storage Scholars boxes are designed only to handle up to 45 pounds, any boxes shipped heavier than 45 pounds will be subject to additional surcharges.
Your items are stored in a security monitored, temperature-controlled facility within 20 minutes from campus. We want your items to be safe just as much as you :)
We wanted to help give you a feel for what a Storage Scholars box (22"x18"x18" 4.125 cubic ft) could store, so we spoke with some of our past customers… Here's what they said: “The Storage Scholars box fit practically all my bedroom supplies: my bedding, my toiletries, my two pillows, and my wall art” “The Storage Scholars box held my Nespresso machine, all my winter sweaters, and my bath towels.” “I fit 5 pairs of sneakers, 4 boots and 7 sandals in my Storage Scholars box. That's 16 pairs of shoes!” “I was able to put my blender, both my bedside lamps, my blankets and some silverware in my Storage Scholars Box!” If you are looking to ship the majority of your items to school in lieu of driving them, we recommend choosing "The Average Scholar" or "The Interior Designer" package.
After purchasing a ship-to-school package from Storage Scholars, you have the option to add additional items from your favorite retailers. To do so, you will receive a specific Storage Scholars facility address that you can use while shopping online. After making the purchase, you need to log back into your Storage Scholars account and provide the tracking number for each additional item. For items beyond the initial 5 Storage Scholars boxes included in the package, there is a fee of $50 per item.
Let's look at a couple of examples to illustrate this:
1. If you ship back 3 Storage Scholars boxes, you can also ship 2 boxes from retailers included in your package without incurring any additional charges.
2.However, if you ship back 5 Storage Scholars boxes and 3 Target packages, you would be charged an additional $150 ($50 x 3) for the three extra packages.
Remember to keep track of the tracking numbers for the items you ship from retailers and provide them to Storage Scholars through your account. This will ensure a smooth process and help them accurately handle and retrieve your items.
Yes, in order use the ship to school service, you must ship all of your Storage Scholars boxes and your a la carte packages before August 1st!

Storage pricing is per item per month with a minimum of four months at a time (summer, fall, or spring). The beauty of Storage Scholars is you only pay for the items you store. To check out our full pricing list click here. All costs listed include boxes, packing supplies, pick-up, delivery, storage, and $100 insurance per item. If you have something of high value we have low-cost additional insurance plans available during your sign-up process.
You will rarely hear our team say "no," meaning you can store anything from boxes to TVs to bikes to even your car!
